Casa Latina

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Casa Latina advances the power and well-being of Latino immigrants through employment, education, and community organizing. Our vision is that the Latino community participates fully in the economy and democracy of this country.

Description

Founded in 1994, Casa Latina has been an essential resource for the Seattle Latino community for 30 years. Casa Latina is unique for providing both direct services – and engaging in community organizing work to address systemic change.

Our Day Worker Center,  Education Program, and Leadership Programs are focused on providing training, knowledge, and support to help our community of members move toward greater self-sufficiency. Since 2014, over 54,000 jobs have been dispatched through Casa Latina's member-led worker center.

Led by members of our community, Casa Latina organizes at the city, state, and national levels to create systemic change for immigrant workers.

2023 Highlights:

-- Dispatched over 4,690 jobs for our members with an average hourly pay rate of $34.81.

-- 1,560 meals were distributed as part of our Community Kitchen Program.

-- 3,220 contact hours of in-person English instruction.
