$25,000 Goal
At PCNW, we believe everyone deserves a place to learn, create, and be seen. But for many students, the cost of classes, materials, and access to equipment keeps that door closed.
Through scholarships, subsidized materials, and free exhibitions and artist talks, we’re working to change that.
Last year, PCNW awarded over $38,000 in scholarships to 59 students. Over the past five years, our scholarship fund has grown by 26%, with a 37% increase in students supported—prioritizing LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and students with disabilities through the Names Family Fund. Still, demand continues to outpace our resources.
This GiveBIG, your support can help open the classroom door—providing not just tuition, but the tools, space, and community students need to thrive. When you give, you’re not just supporting photography—you’re supporting students, their stories, and the communities they help shape.
We have a $12,500 match from PCNW's Board of Directors for TODAY only. Will you double your impact and join us in opening the classroom door to all?
Mission
PCNW is a place for everyone to explore the photographic arts. We promote lifelong learning and creativity through resources and programs that inspire and empower. We believe in a world where visual storytelling and artistic expression are used as tools for positive change, community building, and greater empathy.
For more than 30 years, PCNW has championed photographic education through our accredited 53-credit Certificate Program, classes, workshops, publicly-accessible facilities, and free exhibitions and public programs. Our goals are to provide rigorous, inclusive education, elevate artists, and ensure equitable access to photography.
Each year, PCNW serves over 5,000 people, including nearly 1,000 students––teens in summer workshops; BFA students through Seattle University; and adults of all ages pursuing continued education. To reduce barriers, we award over $30,000 in scholarships annually to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those with financial need. Our community includes 100 members, 50+ volunteers, 25 adjunct faculty, and a wide network of artists, donors, and supporters. In addition to our educational offerings, we host 5-6 exhibitions and 20-25 free public programs annually.
Thanks to our incredible community, sponsors, foundations, and partners who make our work possible every day.
