In a world that often feels uncertain, art remains a beacon. Yet, many artists still lack access and resources. Now more than ever, we need spaces where all artists can make work and find community.

At PCNW, we provide artists with the tools to grow and connect with a broader creative community. Through 20-25 free public programs each year, including artist talks, gallery exhibitions, professional development, and more, we nurture artists of all backgrounds. In 2024 alone, we showcased the work of over 600 artists across eight gallery exhibitions and public art installations. At the heart of it all, PCNW is a safe, diverse, inspiring, and supportive community where artists can thrive.

This GiveBIG, we are raising critical funds to expand access, resources, and opportunities for artists. With a $10K match from our Board of Directors, you can double your impact and fuel the ripple effect of photography. Will you join us in supporting creativity and community?

Your support will be felt in every photograph, exhibition, and artist we uplift this year.

Mission

PCNW is a place for everyone to explore the photographic arts. We promote lifelong learning and creativity through resources and programs that inspire and empower. We believe in a world where visual storytelling and artistic expression are used as tools for positive change, community building, and greater empathy.

About PCNW

For more than 30 year, PCNW has championed and provided photographic education through our accredited 53-credit Certificate Program, classes and workshops; free exhibitions and public programs; and publicly-accessible facilities. Our goals are to provide rigorous, inclusive education; elevate artists; and ensure equitable access to photography through all our programs.

Each year, PCNW serves over 5,000 people through our programs and labs, including nearly 1,000 enrolled students: teens in summer workshops with Coyote Central and Youth in Focus; BFA students through Seattle University; and adults of all ages pursuing continued education. To reduce barriers, we award over $28,000 in scholarships annually to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those with financial need. Our community includes 100 members, 50+ volunteers, 25 adjunct faculty, and a wide network of artists, donors, and the public. In addition to our educational offerings, we host 5–6 exhibitions and 20–25 free public programs annually.
