Help Ali & Murphy raise funds for arts access!

I joined the board at Photographic Center Northwest because I’ve seen firsthand how transformative a creative education can be. (That’s me at 16 with my first SLR!) At PCNW, students and community members can tell their stories through prints, zines, collage, alternative processes, and beyond. But what really sets it apart is the community—fun, smart, generous, supportive people who show up, share what they know, and actually root for each other.

That's why I believe access to photography matters. It’s not just about making images; it’s about finding your voice, your perspective, and your place in our turbulent world.

I’m raising funds to ensure that access to creative education at PCNW remains open to everyone—regardless of background or resources. Every gift, big or small, helps remove barriers and create space for more voices to be seen and heard. My goal is to reach 25 donations by May 5, and I’d be honored to have your support.

Here’s what your gift can do:

• $25: Buys two rolls of 35mm film for an introductory student
• $50: 8 hours in the darkroom, digital lab, or studio  

• $75: 10 hours in the darkroom, digital lab, or studio  

• $135: One scholarship to a basics-series workshop 

• $250: Class materials for an introductory 10-week class 

• $500: Class materials + 10 professional archival prints 

• $1,000: One scholarship to a 10-week class + 20 hours of lab time 

• $2,500: A full academic year (three quarters) of study for one scholarship student 

• $5,000: Subsidized class materials for an entire quarter of scholarship students
