My Healing Center Story

As I end my first year as a board member of The Healing Center, I am so energized by the impact this incredible organization has on the people we serve. In a world where grief can be isolating and frightening, The Healing Center provides a space that offers community with grievers experiencing similar losses, facilitated by professionals, all at no charge to clients. 

Times are difficult for so many of us, and asking for financial contributions feels challenging - however there is little that is more needed, in my opinion, than guidance through this very difficult, human experience. Your support will help ensure that The Healing Center can continue to serve Washington’s grieving people. It’s much appreciated!

When people feel like grief is drowning them, The Healing Center is here to pull them to safety. 

Without support, grieving adults and children face dire hardships including financial strain, trouble in school, and increased risks of heart attack, stroke, depression, suicide, and substance abuse. 

The Healing Center meets these struggles with support and validation. Clients often arrive feeling trapped and alone, but in groups surrounded by others who “get it” their pain is transformed into a meaningful sense of community. No one can make the ocean of grief disappear, but together we learn to navigate its complicated waters.

And because grieving families already have enough to worry about—all The Center's services are free. Thanks to donors like you, The Healing Center is able to help hundreds of children, teens, adults, and seniors a year.
