Mifepristone available until May 11

Update posted 1 month ago

While SCOTUS has issued a 1 week reprieve for continued Mifepristone access, the fight for health justice continues and we need your help!

Congress is in the process of stripping health coverage from over 30,000 lawfully present Washingtonians:

In January all lawfully present immigrants in poverty lost access to federal assistance to purchase health coverage on our state exchange.

In October, 20,000 refugees, asylums, and other immigrants will lose access to Medicaid.

You can deduct up to $1,000 for 2026 taxes ($2k filing jointly) if you do not itemize — please consider diverting your tax dollars away from ICE and toward health equity.

Hello friends,

We all know the medical system is broken.  Costs are skyrocketing and the federal administration has shifted billions in costs to states in order to provide the wealthiest with tax breaks at a time when WA faces budget challenges.

For over 25 years Northwest Health Law Advocates (NoHLA) has worked to push Washington to do better. Today we need your help:

Congress is in the process of stripping health coverage from 30,000 lawfully present Washingtonians.  Additionally work reporting requirements and more costly red tape will be inflicted on individuals and state agencies. which will likely mean 1 in 20 people in our state will lose coverage.

This legislative session NoHLA worked with partners to secure:

  • state funded health coverage for 6,191 more immigrant Washingtonians at a time when congress is stripping Medicaid and Medicare from lawful present immigrants

  • $55 million in premium assistance for people buying insurance through Washington Healthplanfinder for 2027

  • Continued access to charity care which can help with hospital bills for half of all Washingtonians -- including with deductibles and co-pays

As a reminder, you can deduct up to $1,000 for 2026 taxes ($2k filing jointly) if you do not itemize — please consider diverting your tax dollars away from waging war on Iran and toward health equity.

Thank you for considering,
