Navigating uncharted waters, together
Our healthcare system has seen extraordinary challenges this year.
Our community is not alone. Over 30% of rural hospitals across America have closed, but this is not just about hospitals. Labor shortages, supply chain gaps and inflation are affecting everyone. Those additional challenges impact things like our ferry system, making access to local, quality healthcare more important than ever.
Trusted steward
We are grateful for your ongoing trust in the foundation to be your voice and the steward of your investment, maximizing the impact of each donation. 97% of every dollar you donate goes directly to patient care, ensuring the ongoing delivery of exceptional care, without exception.
Unfortunately, we’re made the sad decision again this year to cancel our Annual Gala, but your donations are more important than ever. To bridge the gap, we’re once again, we’re partnering with the GIVE BIG campaign where individuals and organizations, statewide, are taking proactive step towards creating the kind of community we all want to live in.
Confidence in quality care
Our goal, as always, is to support our exceptional providers with the tools and resources they need to continue to deliver quality care for our community. Over the last year, because of you, we’ve been able to fund:
- Five stretcher beds to increase capacity in the Emergency Department
- Training equipment for required staff CPR training
- Construction of a safe room for mental health patients in our Emergency Department
- Scholarships for 15 nurses to attend a 3-year Nurse Leadership program
- Procedural exam table for greater patient comfort during biopsies, port removals, and wound care
- Automatic doors for the Goldie Clinic
- Rehabilitation equipment to expand our Pediatric Rehabilitation capabilities
- A replacement refrigerator for our blood bank; a critical need
- Transport chairs and wheelchairs to replace aging equipment
- And so much more…
In addition, the generous golfers at Union Bay Golf and Country Club raised money to purchase two automated CPR machines that will save lives.
Ready for what’s ahead
As the new norm unfolds, we are grateful to for your support as we navigate these uncharted waters together. If COVID has taught us anything, it’s to be constantly looking ahead so that we are prepared for the next challenge!
Our commitment to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of our diverse community resulted in the addition of Walk-In clinics, in both Oak Harbor and Clinton, providing convenient and affordable healthcare, x-rays, laboratory services and mammography, close to home. Opening the WhidbeyHealth Pharmacy added much needed services to Central Whidbey.
As our community ages, having access to services like joint replacement with accelerated recovery, physical therapy and an award-winning cancer center make it easier to face life’s healthcare challenges without traveling off island.
For those who receive care at an off-island facility, WhidbeyHealth works with your provider to manage your recovery care right here on Whidbey, close to home.
Readiness is a community effort
We are here for the long run and with your ongoing support, we can ensure local access to quality care for each of us, our children and our grandchildren.
Together, we can ensure quality healthcare is…
Here for GOOD!
