Jake is a young 2 year old Lab mix, who has a resilient soul despite his past struggles and trauma. He is the sweetest, friendliest guy who loves all people and other dogs. He even likes cats.
Rescued from the streets in Eastern Wa, Jake came to us with fractures from a broken back leg and musculoskeletal malformations in his front leg. Arthritis is already setting in. We are assuming he was hit by a car but never got taken to a vet for care. So his broken bones and legs healed as they were. Jake has learned how to get around using his back leg very carefully but the fact is he is in pain. His front leg is also of concern so it doesn’t get any worse.
Jake’s pain will need to be closely monitored with treatments and medication. Jake will be extremely limited in what he is able to do but he does a little running and wants to play with other dogs.
We would like to get Jake the continued medical help he needs. He is being seen by surgeon who is kindly offering a free evaluation and exam of Jake's X-rays to determine the best outcome for his care. Every animal we have in our car needs vet care, some more than others.
In Jake’s case the vet bills for the rescue will be high and more than we can afford but we will continue to give him the best care.
