Mission

Ventures is a Seattle-based nonprofit that strengthens well-being and economic mobility through business education, incubation, and capital for individuals from underrepresented communities. We provide business training, access to capital, coaching, and hands-on learning opportunities for entrepreneurs. We serve those in our community with industry experience for whom traditional business development services are out of reach. Our ultimate goal is to support individuals to increase their income potential, achieve long-term financial stability, provide for their families, and enrich their communities through small business ownership.

 Many of our entrepreneurs are eager to succeed but lack access to the vital resources needed to grow and launch, like capital, business training, and networks. Your gift helps eliminate these barriers, allowing small business owners to thrive and strengthen our local economy.  

Every dollar helps provide individualized support to those who need it most. Your support ensures we can continue offering the following services to local entrepreneurs: 

• Courses and workshops in both English and Spanish, covering business basics, marketing, operations, financial management, and specialized topics.
• Free, personalized one-on-one business coaching to help entrepreneurs navigate challenges and reach their goals.
• Access to capital, including microloans of up to $50,000. We offer collateral-free peer loans, traditional business loans, and credit-building loans, paired with financial literacy support.
• Hands-on incubation opportunities through Ventures Marketplace, our business incubator and retail store at Pike Place Market where more than 50 entrepreneurs sell their products and receive coaching from retail experts on pricing, display, packaging, and production.
