GiveBIG 2024

South County Cats is a small organization making a BIG Difference!

South County Cats relies on donations, grants, and fundraisers to support our programs. Our target for GiveBIG 2024 is to raise $15,000 for our free/low-cost spay & neuter programs and $3,000 for Maple's eye surgeries. Will you join us in achieving this goal? Any donation, regardless of size, is greatly appreciated!"

Mission

South County Cat's mission is to reduce overpopulation, homelessness and shelter intakes of cats in our community by providing assistance with free or low-cost, easily accessible spay and neuter for companion and community cats.

Your donation will be used to help us spay and neuter cats and kittens in our community.

 About South County Cats

South County Cats is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization serving King County and surrounding communities. We are a registered Charity in Washington State and an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (tax ID #20-5278961).

Since 2006, 27,000+ cats from 16 counties, including 9,100+ cats at our South County Spay & Neuter Clinic, have been spayed or neutered through South County Cats' programs:

* South County Spay & Neuter Clinic - serving cats from our TNR and rescue/foster/adoption programs, many rescue organizations, local shelters, individual trappers, and cat owners. Our financial support for the clinic includes rent and utilities, equipment purchases and maintenance, surgical supplies, staffing expenses for a skilled HQHV veterinarian, licensed vet tech, vet assistant and administrative assistant.  Additionally, all surgeries are subsidized by South County Cats and feral/free-roaming (outdoor) cats receive free surgery and rabies vaccine.

* Spay/Neuter vouchers for companion cats cared for by low-income families and disabled or senior citizens

* Trap-Neuter-Return of feral and free-roaming cats, which prevents reproduction and improves the health of community cats

* Our rescued foster cats and kittens receive veterinary care and are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for internal and external parasites prior to adoption. Many of these kittens come through our Mom's Last Litter program.

One breeding pair of cats can produce thousands of breeding offspring. Each year 2,000+ cats are spayed or neutered through our programs. Your donation will be used to help us spay and neuter cats and kittens in our community in our effort to reduce overpopulation, homelessness, and  shelter intakes that are the result of unaltered cats.

Additionally, we educate the public about our programs and the importance of spay and neuter through our outreach efforts, assist with veterinary care for community cats, fund microchips for pet cats, and share cat food donations.

Our programs are funded by donations, grants and fundraisers like GiveBIG and our annual CAToberfest event. We thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of many cats and their caretakers. We could not save lives through spay and neuter without the support of our caring community.

Recognition

Donors at the $1,000 level can subsidize a day of spay/neuter where 50+ cats are spayed or neutered in one day. If desired, they will be recognized on our social media, have a placard displayed at the clinic recognizing them as Clinic Sponsor for that day, and be invited to tour our clinic on a spay day to see their investment at work.
