Bellingham Mountain Rescue Council

A nonprofit organization

Bellingham Mountain Rescue Council is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization committed to saving lives and reducing suffering through search, rescue, recovery, and mountain safety education. We have supported this mission since 1955 as one of the first Mountain Rescue teams in the country.

We are a fully accredited public safety agency affiliated with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, available 24/7/365 by calling 911. Regardless of terrain, we provide EMT-level medical care to the far reaches of Whatcom County and any other agency that requests us. We adhere to the No Charge for Rescue philosophy and never pass operating expenses on to those we assist.

Donations from people like you helps ensure that we can be ready to assist the community when the need arises. Please consider donating so that we can continue to provide critical emergency services when people need us most.
