Hike for Recovery – Thank You!
Today was the Hike for Recovery, and thanks to your generosity, we raised $850 for Evergreen Treatment Services! The staff at ETS were so grateful, and it means a lot to me that we accomplished this together.
I hiked ~11 miles—one mile for each donation received. Shaughnessey and Poppy joined me for the first half, where we saw a black bear (from a safe distance!) and met another hiker who works with ETS’s REACH Program. I finished the second half on my own, through areas of the park still recovering from last year’s Bomb Cyclone—reminding me of the hard but hopeful work of recovery.
If you had planned to contribute but haven’t yet, this fundraising page will stay open through the end of September in honor of Recovery Month.
People in recovery move mountains to make changes that work for them, reach their goals on their terms, and navigate their recovery journeys. Evergreen Treatment Services (ETS) has walked alongside them through the steep trails, rapid rivers, and rocky valleys of recovery for more than 52 years.
On Saturday, September 6, I will be joining ETS staff and supporters at the Hike for Recovery event in Issaquah, WA. If you know me, you likely know two things: I love spending time hiking and running the trails of the PNW, and I’ve spent the last decade+ supporting harm reduction and healthcare interventions for people who use drugs. You can support me as I hike alongside ETS and honor people in recovery. My goal is to raise $500 —consider donating to my page to help me reach this goal!
