Northwest Working Breed Rescue officially launched on January 1, 2026, with a simple mission: give dogs a second chance and do it the right way.
In just a few short months, we’ve taken in dozens of dogs from a wide range of situations—strays, owner surrenders, and urgent placements where dogs had nowhere else to go. Many come to us needing medical care, structure, and time to decompress before they’re ready for adoption. Since opening our doors, we’ve already helped many of these dogs find safe, loving homes, with more currently in our care working toward that same goal.
We are a foster-based rescue, which means every dog lives in a home environment—not a kennel—where they can learn, grow, and be truly understood. This allows us to match each dog thoughtfully with the right adopter, setting both the dog and their future family up for long-term success.
But as we grow, so does the need.
Every dog we take in requires food, vaccinations, veterinary care, supplies, and ongoing support. Some need only basic care, while others require more extensive medical attention or behavioral work. We never want to turn a dog away simply because we lack resources—but right now, resources are what limit how many lives we can save.
Your support during GiveBIG 2026 directly impacts the dogs in our care. Donations go toward:
- Veterinary care, including vaccines, exams, and treatment
- Food and daily supplies
- Preventative care like deworming and flea treatment
- Support for our foster homes who make this work possible
Every dollar helps us continue to say “yes” to dogs who need us—dogs who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built in such a short time, but we know this is just the beginning. With your help, we can continue to grow responsibly, support our fosters, and ensure every dog that comes through our rescue gets the care, time, and placement they deserve.
Thank you for being part of their journey.
