How do we use what we know to better support others, especially kids and young creatives trying to find their path?

Through ConceptShell, I’ve been setting aside portions of what I earn from design work to give back—supporting emerging artists and community organizations whenever I could. But I kept thinking… what if I could do more?

I’m a Filipino-American designer, a child of immigrants, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and a mom of two. I was raised to care for others and give back—and that’s shaped everything I’ve built.

Through my work, I’ve seen how under-resourced organizations, communities, and startups struggle to access professional design. Their missions are powerful, but without strong storytelling and visuals, it’s harder for them to be seen and supported.

At the same time, I see talented young creatives looking for real opportunities—spaces to learn, grow, stay on a positive path, and explore creative careers.

I’ve seen what’s possible. I hosted a high school intern who worked on real projects that went on to receive awards. Today, they’re enrolled in art school studying design, and we still keep in touch. I hope one day they’ll return to mentor the next generation.

Even in these early stages, we’ve already created free, accessible experiences—from a toddler painting event for Lunar New Year with Laro Tayo, to a paint + park cleanup with Nosotros En Naturaleza and Trout Unlimited, to design support for the 2nd Annual AANHPI Heritage Month celebration—all at no cost to the young people we serve.

So I created ConceptShell Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

We’re building:
– Cultural and wellness-centered events
– Workshops, mentorship, and paid opportunities for emerging creatives
– Free or low-cost design services for nonprofits and community groups

This is about access, care, and creating real pathways for creativity to support community.
