A Big THANK YOU to our 5 donors who helped us raise $300 last week for GiveBIG!
It means a lot to us to know that you believe in us and our mission. This $300 will go directly towards securing a venue for an upcoming resource fair. We are currently in the process of trying to find affordable or low-cost venues located in underserved areas and on public transportation routes. (if you have any ideas, please share with us!)
Unfortunately, we still have a long ways to go to reach our fundraising goals. And the truth is, we need your help now more than ever.
We are a small team with an even smaller budget and these next few weeks may determine whether or not we can keep the doors open at On The Road with PartnerCafe. Our bank account is looking scarily slim this spring and our Board of Directors is in the process of creating a contingency plan in the event that we need to shut down operations. So, our fundraiser will remain open and ongoing to try and keep the momentum going and we hope that you'll Lend us a hand to keep On The Road up and running <3
What does it mean to Lend a Hand?
Sometimes it’s something simple, opening the door for a stranger or putting away your shopping cart at the grocery store. Lending a hand can also be volunteering your time at a local food bank or cleaning your friend’s bathroom because they have a newborn.
Lending a hand can come in many different shapes and forms, but at its essence It implies a willingness to contribute effort or support to make a task easier or to alleviate someone's burden. And that is something we work on every day at On The Road with PartnerCafe.
This year, for GiveBIG, we hope to inspire YOU to Lend a Hand to your friends, your family, and your community. The future is uncertain for many, and we believe that it is important to remember that we all have the power to come together and help one another, even if there are differences amongst us all!
There’s a good feeling we get when we show up for others, whether it’s a family member, a neighbor, or a local nonprofit we care about. And it’s not just about “good feels” — volunteering or donating money to support nonprofit groups helps everyone in the community. From Puget Sound to the Palouse, the Cascades to the Columbia River, great things happen for everyone when you give what you can. That’s what GiveBIG is all about.
