I've been happily involved in this program for 16 years. It is truly one of the high points of my life.
We have many riders who are non-verbal... please don't think for a moment they can't communicate. We have several riders who struggle to walk or are confined to a wheelchair... please don't think for a moment they can't move through life with sometimes greater dignity and grace than you or I. We have several riders for whom staying focused is a monumental challenge... please know that pairing them with a gentle horse may bring light to an otherwise muddled world.
These riders, my friends, may enhance the lives of volunteers, staff, caregivers and parents even more than their own. Interacting with them and the horses is just pure joy!
