Support WA Libraries

The Washington Library Association is participating in GivingTuesday for our #SupportWALibraries Campaign. This year, we're aiming BIG! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to aid WA library workers in all types of libraries: academic, school, public, tribal, and special, with professional development, educational, and networking opportunities.

The Washington Library Association aims to support and supplement opportunities for library workers who may not have the funding due to employer budget cuts or personal circumstances. It is vital for library workers to receive ongoing support and education in areas of accessibility, equity, diversity, and inclusion, intellectual freedom, collection development, and more.

Remember, library professionals do so much more than work with books! Your donation will contribute to their:

- Professional Development (50%) Send library workers to webinars, workshops, conferences, and other events.

- Scholarships (22%) Provide students and professionals the funding to pursue higher and continuing education in the field of librarianship.

- Advocacy (18%) Support grassroots legislative and advocacy work that has a direct impact on professionals in academic, school, public, tribal, and special libraries.

- Publications (10%) Help library professionals stay connected, find resources, and share their work and research.
