Hi friends! I work for the Hunger Intervention Program, which helps feed the North King County community through direct meals, nutrition/cooking classes, and advocacy. I know money is tight for everyone these days, but if you can, please consider donating. Every dollar helps ensure a child, senior, or unhoused individual in our neighborhood can access a delicious and healthy meal.
Here’s some more information about what we do:
North Seattle and Shoreline, where HIP operates, experience hunger (or food insecurity) at a higher rate. Factors like the reduction in federal food benefits (SNAP/EBT), tariffs, and high inflation mean hunger is on the rise.
Please help HIP provide more fresh, delicious, nutritious meals to seniors, families with children, and our neighbors experiencing homelessness by donating today. If you donate before the end of the day on May 7th, you can double your impact with our $20,000 matching donation.
Your donation helps children, like those who participate in the Summer Eats meal program, where kids at high risk of hunger receive nutritious meals and participate in activities right near their homes.
HIP is also on the ground advocating at the federal, state, and local levels for food access for all.
Last year, HIP served over 190,000 meals, marking a 23% increase over the previous year, the highest amount since the height of the pandemic. While we are grateful for the opportunity to support people, it is disheartening that demand for our services continues to rise. You can help them by donating today.
