$10,000 goal
Our emotional wellbeing is intrinsically grounded in the natural landscape beneath our feet and the multi-sensory experience of being outdoors. In honor of Mental Health Month this May, help Plymouth Healing Communities reach our goal of raising $10,000 to expand our communal Beacon Hill Gardening Project with a healing Meditation Garden at Eng House property, where we have already empowered residents to combat food security with 13 raised garden beds producing organically grown vegetables, fruits, and spices - in addition to forging friendships and creating an emotional support system.
Gavin Tiemeyer, Tilth Alliance's Garden Hotline Educator - partners with us, harvesting vegetables at Eng House.Your contributions will be used to purchase gardening tools, native shrubbery, compost & mulch, and landscape materials to furnish (1) a labyrinth for meditative walks, (2) benches for resting and mindful contemplation, (3) a perennial pollinator flowering garden that will populate this garden sanctuary and raised produce gardens with bees, butterflies, and other helpful insects, and finally, (4) stone and passive water features to enhance the anxiety-reducing effects of this meditative space.
Demand for this project is high, with 60-90% of all residents at our properties participating in the raised bed gardens' planting, watering, maintenance, and harvesting. On March 1, 2022 Plymouth Healing Communities' Program Director, Padrica Hoffman, revamped the Beacon Hill Community Garden Project and set the foundation for a therapeutic Meditation Garden to benefit the residents of PHC properties. With your help, we can bring this project to fruition!
