Whidbey Island Center for the Arts is committed to making sure youth have a place to be creative and heard. WICA’s Youth in Arts program explores arts, arts administration, and creative careers with professional side-by-side mentorship in all areas of stagecraft.

Ada grew up at WICA having her first theatrical experience in our Summer Conservatory classes when she was only 7 years old. It is our honor and pleasure to produce this “senior show” for her as she spreads her wings and graduates.

GiveBIG funds allow us to plan our Summer 2023 Conservatory classes and create space for new and upcoming students to take flight! Please join us in supporting youth in arts and arts in education!

A note from The Last Five Years musical director Shiela Weidendorf and mother of the starring actress Ada Rose Faith-Feyma:

I have had the privilege and joy of performing many concerts at WICA, and musically directing/performing several musical theater productions − the most notable being Next to Normal in 2019 and now, in April of 2023, The Last Five Years. Besides the top-tier professional quality of these productions, the compelling staging, and the amazing music is the fact that my daughter, Ada Rose Faith-Feyma, was/is featured in both. I have made oh, so much music with oh, so many musicians. But collaborations with my daughter are something very special. I admire her skill, her earnest endeavors to hone her craft, her commitment to excellence, and yes, her crazy talent. Our current collaboration in The Last Five Years is particularly meaningful as Ada is about to graduate from South Whidbey High School and go out into the wide, wonderful world and meet her path as it reveals itself. Translation: This is likely our last collaboration for some time. (Also meaning I’m going to need extra tissues on closing night!) I am so grateful to WICA for their wonderful work in our community and for the opportunities and support offered to both Ada and I over the years.
