Our 2026 A Starry Night Gala was a night of incredible generosity and community. Because of you, the dream of a dedicated gymnasium for New Horizon School is closer than ever. But now, we need to cross the finish line and turn those "Starry Night" dreams into a reality of bricks, mortar, and safety flooring.

For our students in Renton, a gym is so much more than a place for basketball. It is a vital resource for the 1 in 5 students who learn differently.

Why an NHS Gymnasium is Essential

At New Horizon School, we know that movement is a key to learning. For students with ADHD, Autism, and sensory processing needs, having a dedicated space to move isn't just "PE"—it is a therapeutic necessity.

• Sensory Regulation: Currently, our students lack a consistent indoor space for the "movement breaks" that help reset their nervous systems. This gym will provide a controlled environment where students can regulate their energy so they can return to the classroom ready to focus.

• Physical Achievement: From adaptive sports to building motor skills, a gym provides a safe, non-competitive space for our students to discover what their bodies can do. It’s where "I can't" becomes "I just did."

• A Home for our Community: Beyond daily classes, this gym will be the heart of NHS—a place for assemblies, graduation ceremonies, and the events that bring our families together.
