Giving through Architectural Design
Hi, I’m Mark and I serve on the board of Architects Without Borders - Seattle (AWBS) as well as lead a design team working on an Educational / Vocational Campus in Honduras.
I support AWBS because I believe that architecture is more than design—it solves real-world problems. AWBS works with communities and mission-driven organizations to bring professional design to the people and places that need it most. AWBS is also one of the few outlets available for Pro-Bono Design: offering architectural and design services to underserved communities who could benefit from the expertise of architects but do not typically have access to them as well as providing an opportunity for Designers and Architects to give back.
This year, AWBS is seeing more demand than ever for its services. From preserving cultural spaces in Seattle to supporting all sorts of projects abroad, the need is real—and growing.
That’s why I’m raising funds during GiveBIG: to help AWBS build the capacity to say “yes” to more projects, more partners, and more impact -- so that more projects can be built and their positive impacts realized.
If you believe in the power of thoughtful design to transform lives, I hope you’ll consider making a gift. Every dollar helps us support the nonprofits and communities that rely on us to help them succeed.
Let’s build something better—together. Donate Today!

The recently completed Gate House and perimeter enclosure for the HEDAC CVCM (Vocational Campus) project in Honduras. The Gate House, perimeter walls, and gates serve as the first crucial step to securing the site and allowing for future site infrastructure to be built (electricity and water being brought to the site). With site infrastructure in place, Phase Ic will begin, bringing 3 large classrooms and an Administration building to the site, which will allow the project to officially begin operations.
The HEDAC CVCM project will be a multi-phase development looking to build a large Vocational Campus with on-site Dorms and support buildings as well as a variety of Classrooms aimed at providing the knowledge and skills needed in the immediate and greater Honduran community.
Those who will benefit from your generosity and the work of HEDAC + AWBS!
