PHASE2
The next phase is an Electrical System Upgrade. This is common sense infrastructure step that prepares the site for key changes in the remaining phases. Currently, the electrical system has two major issues. The first is that the power on the entire back wall of the building is not operational. The second problem is that the existing electric is not balanced for the usage needed by a community center which require multiple crock pots, warming trays, and roaster ovens working at once. We dream of a day where we and our guests can host a function without running many yards of extension cords from and to outbuildings. An even bigger dream is a commercial kitchen which you can read about in WHAT HAPPENS IN FUTURE PHASES in the next section below.
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LEARN ABOUT OUR FUNDRAISER!
This project is an amazing opportunity to restore a unique historical space in Kitsap County. The Board of the Crosby Community Center is taking great care to balance history with cost, energy efficiency, maintenance, and function.
If you live in Washington State or just care about preserving historical spaces and helping communities thrive, we hope you will consider donating to our project. Every donation helps however large or small!

WHAT HAPPENS IN FUTURE PHASES?
The remaining phases create space, storage (who does not need more storage!), complete interior and exterior finish work, and upgrade entry steps and ramp.
USABILITY
To add space, the rear wall will be removed and a closet, stage, and kitchen will be added.
Currently, WA State law limits businesses without a commercial kitchen to a maximum of 4 food permitted events a year. That means that the community center cannot even make popcorn for a movie night without using up one of the four food permits. The addition of a commercial kitchen will allow the center to hold unlimited events!
On the rear exterior of the building, the space under the stage, closet, and kitchen will be turned into exterior closets to allow the center to store a wide range of items from cornhole boards, grills, Crosby Days Logging Festival competition equipment, and more.
On the interior, the building addition will free up interior floor and restore the most of the hall interior to its historical original.
Note: The building addition is on the rear of the building, respecting the original architecture of the front and sides of the building.
SAFETY & OPERATION
Front steps will be repaired. Rear entry steps and ramp will be rebuilt and be ADA compliant. The electrical system will be upgraded.
HISTORY
Interior and exterior woodwork, shingles, walls, etc. will be repaired. Materials and aesthetics will respect original building architecture, using modern materials where it is practical to minimize maintenance cost and frequency.
