Janice Q's Fundraiser

Hi there to my family and friends, 

I'm participating in a fundraiser for a wonderful organization; Free Rein Therapeutic Riding Center (Spokane WA). I have been volunteering there since March 2023. Free Rein is a nonprofit organization that was started in 2008. Since that time, they have been in 6 different locations because they do not own their own facility. Unfortunately, leasing has forced them to move so many times. The owners of the present facility have decided they want to return their facility to a regular horse boarding facility. The lease expires this month. On a temporary basis we are still at the facility on a month-to-month rental at a higher price. We do not know how long the owners will allow us to be there. I'm asking if you would be willing to donate to this cause so that we can finally purchase a permanent location.

I wish all of you could see and experience what I have the last three years at Free Rein. We have riders of all ages (youngest is 4) and all levels of disability. There are riders with physical and/or mental challenges. There are many autistic people ranging from non-verbal to hypersensitivity or screamers. I have witnessed the amazing changes in so many students. The students and their parents are an inspiration to me. I'm in awe of the many parents we have who adopted these children because their biological parents gave them up. Two of the newest students I'm working with are 2 siblings who were adopted from Haiti and they both have Cerebral Palsy. The smiles on their faces the first time they rode cannot be described. They were so joyful and smiled from ear to ear. Neither one of them had ever been near a horse. I won't go into a bunch of stories, but I have seen many other heartwarming interactions, as well.
