Hi, Everyone! I'm Gabriela, and I serve on the board of Architects Without Borders - Seattle (AWBS).

As a new board member, I’m excited to support an organization that connects communities with the resources and expertise to turn their visions into reality.

My journey with AWBS began while working with Fivedot Architects on the Rainier Beach Action Coalition Food Hub Center project. I saw firsthand how breaking down barriers allows communities to create solutions that truly meet their needs.

Architecture is more than design; it’s a solution to real-world problems. AWBS works alongside mission-driven organizations to make professional design and architecture accessible where it’s needed most.

This year, the demand for AWBS’ services has grown; whether preserving cultural spaces in Seattle or supporting projects abroad. The need is real, and we are ready to answer it.

That’s why I’m raising funds during GiveBIG: to help AWBS increase its capacity, reach more communities, and make a greater impact.
