When she arrived at Baale Mane at just 10 years old, Ritu had already endured more hardship than many face in a lifetime. Neglected and exploited, she had little formal education and few prospects for a safe or hopeful future. But everything changed when she found a new home at Baale Mane — a sanctuary for girls like her in Bengaluru, India.

With the loving support of the Baale Mane staff and a stable environment, Ritu slowly began to heal. She entered school, caught up on years of missed education, and with time and encouragement, she began to thrive. Today, Ritu is not just surviving — she’s dreaming big.
