Empowering Women Through Bread:

 A Ugandan Bakery Project In the heart of Jinja.

Adovicuganda International has trained a group of determined women who are rising to meet a unique challenge: transforming their lives and communities through the power of baking. 

Our project aims to establish a women-run bakery that will not o provide nutritious, affordable bread but also create sustainable employment and foster economic independence for local women. The Women's Bakery model has already proven successful in neighboring Rwanda, where it has empowered women to become skilled bakers and entrepreneurs.  

Now, we're bringing this transformative concept to Uganda, where the need for women's economic empowerment is just as pressing.

The Need

Many women in Uganda face limited access to education, employment, and financial resources.  Our bakery project addresses these challenges by providing:

1. Comprehensive skills training in baking and business management

2. Stable employment opportunities

3. A path to financial independence

Our Approach

The project will follow a proven model of empowerment through education and employment:

1. Training: Participants will receive over 200 hours of training in baking, nutrition, business management, and marketing

2. Employment: Upon completion of training, women will be employed at the bakery, earning a stable income.

3. Community Impact: The bakery will produce affordable, nutritious bread, improving local food security.

4. Entrepreneurship: As they gain experience, women will be encouraged to start their small businesses.

Impact

• Train and employ 20 women in the first year

• Establish a fully-equipped bakery

• Produce 1,000 loaves of nutritious bread daily

• Serve 5,000 community members with affordable, healthy food options
