Keep the Aloha alive in the PNW

Hula is deeply meaningful to me and my family, especially my daughter and I because it brings us closer together and reminds us that, even far from Maui, we can carry a sense of home with us. I first connected with hula as a child, and that connection became even more important when I moved to the PNW and longed for a piece of home. When my daughter was born, I wanted her to experience the same sense of culture, story, and belonging, and Kaleinani o Ke Kukui made that possible. Our journey in hula, which began in 2019, has been a source of connection, growth, and identity for both of us.

We are so grateful to Kaleinani o Ke Kukui and the Ke Kukui Foundation, whose work preserves Hawaiian and Polynesian culture while strengthening communities, cultivating youth leadership, and promoting cultural awareness through programs and events.
