Lights, Camera, Access!
Across Seattle, filmmakers race against the clock. In one intense weekend, teams in the Seattle 48 Hour Film Project write, shoot, and edit original short films in just 48 hours. For many, it’s their first time creating something from start to finish.
But not everyone gets the chance to start.
Registration fees and production costs can put participation out of reach for talented voices who deserve to be part of this experience. When fewer filmmakers can participate, fewer films are made—and fewer stories are told.
Just days later, the lights dim inside a real movie theater. Those same films flicker onto the big screen—often for the first time. For many filmmakers, it’s their first time seeing their work projected. For many audience members, it’s their first time attending.
But cost limits who gets to show up.
When audiences can’t afford to attend, those films don’t reach the people they’re meant for.
Lights, Camera, Access! is our commitment to changing that.
Through this GiveBIG campaign, CREATE48 Media Network is raising funds to:
- Provide reduced or sponsored registration fees so more filmmakers can participate
- Offset theater rental costs to keep screenings accessible and community-focused
- Offer reduced-price and complimentary tickets so cost is never a barrier to attendance
- Expand our Popup Film Festival to bring screenings to rural and underserved communities
Together, these efforts ensure more films are created—and more people can experience them.
Your gift makes a direct impact:
- $25 helps provide a reduced or comp ticket for someone to attend a screening
- $50 supports accessible screening costs so we can keep ticket prices low
- $100 helps offset a filmmaker’s registration fee
- $250 supports a block of community tickets or a rural pop-up screening
- $500+ helps bring a full screening experience to more filmmakers and audiences
Because everyone deserves a chance to create—and a place to watch.
Because stories are meant to be shared.
Because access changes everything.
Join us in turning on the lights—everywhere, for everyone.
