Our Mission
We guide people on their path to self-sufficiency by providing employment opportunities and job readiness services.
Every donation helps drive our mission of providing a path to self-sufficiency through jobs and support services. With your support, we are able to provide essential job-readiness services like showers, laundry, job training, certification classes, and housing assistance.
There are countless unseen barriers to employment, and with your gift, we will continue to break down those barriers for workers in need.
Description
Our Vision: A thriving Puget Sound community where everyone is stable, self-sufficient, and has access to gainful employment.
Since 1921, Uplift Northwest (formerly Millionair Club Charity) has helped to rebuild thousands of lives by providing jobs, meals, and other essential support services to individuals experiencing homelessness, unemployment, or underemployment in the greater Seattle area. We do this by providing programs that develop economic opportunities for individuals while building their self-reliance.
Our Pillars
Employment Social Enterprise Our Employment Social Enterprise creates immediate access to paid work paired with real‑world experience. By partnering with more than 90 employers across industries, we place individuals into temporary and longer‑term roles. Participants earn income while gaining job experience, supported by practical tools to help them show up, stay engaged, and succeed on the job. |
Job Readiness RISE (Roadmap to Independent and Sustained Employment) is Uplift Northwest’s job readiness program, preparing participants to re‑enter the workforce with confidence. Through a four‑week, cohort‑based model, participants build practical skills, strengthen workplace readiness, and learn alongside peers in a supportive environment. The program helps individuals move forward with clarity, connection, and momentum toward long‑term employment.

Support Services Support Services address immediate needs that can otherwise prevent progress toward employment and stability. Individuals who engage with Uplift Northwest can access essentials such as housing and shelter referrals, meals, showers, hygiene supplies, eye care, and ongoing case management. By coordinating care through trusted community partners, we help people reduce daily stressors so they can focus on growth, employment, and stability. |
Workforce Empowerment Collective Sustainable change requires collaboration. Through the Workforce Empowerment Collective, Uplift Northwest convenes service providers, employers, government agencies, and community institutions to strengthen the regional workforce system. This cross‑sector approach improves coordination, expands access to opportunity, and builds long‑term pathways to economic stability, helping prevent homelessness and support a more resilient community.
