Union Arts Center, Home of ACT Contemporary Theatre & Seattle Shakespeare Company

Here at Union Arts Center, we’re telling stories from across the world and across time, built on the incredible legacies of ACT Theatre and Seattle Shakespeare Company. Your neighbors are the people bringing these stories to life.
We employ more than 400 local theatre-makers each season - the actors making us laugh, the stage managers timing each dramatic moment for maximum effect, the technicians whose soundscapes and lighting can transport us to the Athenian woods or through the seasons, the friendly staff greeting you at the door or helping you to your seats. And during GiveBIG 2026, this community need your support.
As a non-profit, we depend on patrons like you to not only to keep our lights on and doors open, but to give back to our community through free public performances of Shakespeare each summer and through programs like PULSE, which welcomes young thespians every Sunday afternoon to write, perform, and learn skills that go far beyond the stage.
We are thrilled to announce a $15,000 matching challenge from two anonymous long-time donors. That means your gift goes twice as far to support the art and artists you love. And, with your gift of $100 or more, you'll enjoy an invitation to a special July tour of our historic 100-year-old building, the Eagles Auditorium!
