Mission

The Unemployment Law Project (ULP) advocates for workers in Washington State to advance their economic security during periods of unemployment. ULP also pursues legislative, regulatory, and policy changes to hold government agencies and employers accountable, thereby strengthening equitable practices for unemployed workers.

We offer our services to anyone with trying to get Washington State unemployment benefits. This organization serves people who cannot afford legal representation at the time they need it most.

Description

The Unemployment Law Project provides free advice and representation in Washington State unemployment insurance administrative hearings. Established in 1984, ULP is a 501(c)(c) non-profit legal aid office funded in part by the Legal Foundation of Washington, the Campaign for Equal Justice, King County, labor unions, and individual donors. With the slowing economy there has been a heightened demand for our services. Thousands of unemployed workers around the state are being denied unemployment insurance. Your contribution will allow ULP to respond to the crisis and bring stability to people experiencing unemployment.
