When you donate during the GiveBIG event, you can help save twice as many animals who need expert veterinary care before they can find their forever homes. Pets like Poppy, a 3-month-old pit bull puppy who arrived at our shelter lethargic, weak, and covered in infected pustules. 

Sweet Poppy suffered from tiny pockets of green and yellow discharge all over her body, causing incredible discomfort during a time that should be filled with playfulness and joy. Our experienced veterinary team diagnosed her with juvenile cellulitis, an autoimmune disorder, and she was sent to a loving foster to recover at her own pace.

A couple of weeks later, medicated shampoo and topical ointments were doing the trick as Poppy sprang to life in her foster home. She enjoyed cuddling with her foster family and zooming around the house with her newfound puppy energy. Once fully cured of her painful pustules, Poppy was adopted into a loving home where she continues to thrive.
