Supporting Young Scientists '25
$50 Raised
SoundBio Lab welcomes everyone to explore and grow their passion for science. We provide space, tools and community to foster original research projects alongside hands-on STEAM education in our biomakerspace and the greater Seattle area.
We support learners and innovators of all ages get hands-on with science, build confidence and achieve their goals.
Our small team of employees and expert volunteers run programs in our lab space, and also go out to work at schools in our region. We keep fees low to non-existent, and we prioritize access for those who have least access to traditional STEM institutions and enrichment opportunities.
We organize projects, workshops, and science events embracing hands-on learning as our motto. These activities span beginner concepts in microscopy to practicing molecular biology techniques such as DNA isolation, PCR, and restriction enzyme digests.
Our costs are incredibly low thanks to the generous donations of equipment and supplies that keep our lab running. But we need to pay rent and we need to support our one amazing staff member who keeps our lab space safe and well managed, making all of our programs possible.
Join the SoundBio community so everyone can build their confidence and pursue their science goals.
If we can reach our goal, we can fund:
- Bioscience outreach events and hands-on workshops and labs in our lab, reaching an estimated 1,000 people in 2025.
And if financial support does not work for you then we do have open volunteer positions and we would love to work with you - www.sound.bio/volunteer
