Mission

Our mission is to mobilize people and resources to expand the reach of library services, promote civic engagement, and foster a lifetime of learning. 

Description

As the fundraising arm of Sno-Isle Libraries, the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation partners with individuals, businesses, foundations, corporations, and community organizations to fund innovative and inspiring programs throughout the Library District and expand the capacity of the library to serve more people. 

We support early and adult literacy programs like Third Graders Read Together, which enables more than 5,000 students across Snohomish and Island counties each year to improve their reading skills, learn to work together as a team, and discover the joy of reading for fun; Explore Summer, a popular reading program that helps kids and teens improve their reading skills while on summer break; and Whidbey Reads, which gathers hundreds of avid readers each spring to celebrate a selected book title and explore its themes in a series of related events. 

Past programs funded by the Foundation include the Issues That Matter series, which encourages important community conversations in a neutral, civil environment, STEAM programming, Book Group Discussion Kits, Sno-Isle's beloved Bookmobile, and so much more! 

The Foundation invests in important capital improvements throughout the Sno-isle Library District and supports demonstration libraries in communities without an established library, such as the Mariner Library and the Lakewood/Smokey Point Library. Today both libraries provide a full range of library services to their local communities.
