Mission
Each year, Ryther serves over 2,500 youth and their families across Western Washington—young people facing mental health challenges, trauma, substance use, houselessness, and neurodiverse needs. Through a wide range of therapeutic services, we meet youth where they are and provide the care they need to heal and move forward.
We envision a community where every young person feels heard, supported, and empowered—with the resilience and hope to look toward the future.
Listen to Ryther clients about what it feels like to be heard
Heard Early. Helped Early.
What does it feel like to be heard?
For a child struggling with anxiety, trauma, or overwhelming emotions, being truly heard can change everything. It is often the first step toward healing.
But too often, that moment comes too late.
Mental health challenges begin early—yet many young people wait years before receiving care. The average delay between symptoms and treatment is 11 years. That means a child who begins struggling at 14 may not receive help until adulthood.
Early intervention can change that.
When young people are heard early, they can:
💛 Build coping skills and confidence
💛 Strengthen family relationships
💛 Receive support before challenges become crises
Your support ensures that youth in our community receive care when it matters most—early.
What Makes Ryther Different
Ryther meets youth where others can’t or won’t.
We go beyond traditional care—providing support in homes, schools, shelters, and community spaces. We also offer a full continuum of care, meaning youth can access different levels of support depending on their needs—from early outpatient therapy to more intensive programs like Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP).
This approach ensures that young people receive the right care at the right time, without having to leave their community to find help.
How You Can Help
By supporting Ryther during GiveBIG, you are helping ensure that no child has to wait to be heard.
Your gift helps:
✨ Provide early mental health care for youth and families
✨ Expand programs to meet growing community needs
✨ Bridge the gap when insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of care
✨ Ensure that no child is turned away due to financial barriers
Together, we can make sure every young person has access to the care they need—when they need it most.
