Description

We unite to create a safe place to achieve a crucial mission: to restore the hope and dignity of adults who have been sexually abused in childhood through specialized and affordable therapy, community education, and public advocacy. Roanoke Park Counseling (formerly Shepherd's Counseling Services) has been helping adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse reclaim their lives with the guidance of specialized therapists since 1987. 

Finding a safe place for healing, each month 75-100 people receive individual or group therapy services for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse or for partners of survivors. Roanoke Park Counseling's clientele is 29% male, 65% female, and 6% non-binary, with a strong representation of the LGBTQ+ community, and racial demographics similar to the King County population. Half of the clients served are from low- to very low-income households. 

Services are provided on a sliding fee scale, in addition to accepting insurance plans and offering a need-based scholarship program. Being funded by individuals and private foundations affords a unique opportunity as a community organization to combine therapeutic approaches utilizing the latest research and providing the length of therapy needed for each survivor's healing process.
