The Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts

Mission

Our Mission is to allow children an opportunity to experience the joy of theatre through drama, music, and dance, and present theatrical productions that will educate as well as illuminate the students and our community at large.

Description

We are the only musical theatre organization dedicated solely to children's theatre in the city of Redmond. We provide quality singing, dancing, acting, and technical theatre education as well as performance opportunities for students ages 3 - 18. We also provide very affordable entertainment to our community audience members. Our scholarship fund allows all children to participate regardless of their financial needs. Our number of students and audience members have more than doubled in the last two years. Due to this growth, we have recently moved into a larger space, nearly tripling in size and thus tripling our monthly operational costs. Our new space allows 3 simultaneous classes to occur and will include a new "Black Box Theatre" performance space. We still need additional funds to pay for the construction of this newly created Theatre. This performance space allows additional performance opportunities for our students and audience members as well as faculty, staff, and other community organizations on a smaller scale. Due to our increased rental and construction costs, we will be conducting more fundraising events from organizations like GiveBigWA. The contributions from GiveBigWA will help us improve our new performance space as well as assist in covering all of our operational needs.
