Recovery Café is a Place of Hope and Healing

Recovery Café is a membership based community of people who have experienced trauma and the results of trauma such as homelessness, addiction and other mental health challenges coming to know we are loved and that we have gifts to share. We provide ongoing recovery support to those seeking to transform their lives. Since 2004, the Café's drug-and-alcohol-free space and loving community has anchored our Members in sustained recovery needed to gain and maintain access to housing, social and health services, healthy relationships, education, and employment. All of our services are offered free of charge.

GiveBIG 2026: Meals for Recovery!

This year we are directing funds to our Meals for Recovery program. The healthy food we offer our Members allows them to focus on their recovery instead of where they will find their next meal.

Many of our Members have substance use disorder and/or mental health challenges. Most are currently or formerly unhoused. Some face loneliness, isolation, or grief. Some experience all of these things. In addition to being a safe and stable source of healthy nourishment for people seeking recovery support, Recovery Café offers connections to resources like substance use treatment, health care, hygiene kits, housing, and other essential needs.

Along with this tangible support, we share the vital message to those who feel abandoned: Your life matters and you are loved!

The number of people we are supporting steadily increases each month, while food and other costs continue to rise. Your support today will help us continue providing meals and support services to our community Monday through Saturday across our two locations in South Lake Union and SODO.

Your support during GiveBIG 2026 means more nutritious meals to help more people flourish in their recovery.

GiveBIG 2026 Match from a generous Recovery Café Board Member

We are excited to share that our wonderful Recovery Café board member Michele Moore and her husband Kenneth Moore will be MATCHING UP TO $10,000 during GiveBIG 2026. This will help launch us to our overall goal of $20,000 to support our Meals for Recovery program. We are so grateful to Michele and Kenneth, and to all of our supporters' ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of our Members and the entire community!
