Mission

Rain City Rock Camp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers youth and adults of marginalized genders to engage their creative potential through music, champion equity, and thrive in a community of allies and activists.

Our Work

RCRC combines music education, gender-responsive programming, and a commitment to positive social change to build an environment where adults and youth most impacted by systemic gender-based inequities can literally use their voice to advocate for themselves and their communities. The education we provide goes beyond building basic musical skills. Music is our vehicle, but our goal is to empower participants to take risks, question norms, fight oppression, and build their own identities — both artistic and personal. We value creativity, joy, and building community while creating and performing original music.

We provide the opportunities for our participants to find their inner power and rekindle their sense of joy using music as the tool. We believe it’s never too late to try something new, and we want you to come join us, exactly as you are.

Turn Up & Tune In- Our 2024 Goal

Our theme for 2024 programming is "Turn Up & Tune In." Turn Up the sounds of your community, show up in solidarity and support! Tune In to the voices of marginalized folks, listen, learn, and spread the spirit!

We're turning up the heat this year with a $10,000 goal. Your donation during #GiveBIG supports:

SLIDING SCALE- Help us keep tuition free! Summer camp tuition starts at $0. Your donation sends a future rocker to camp!

RAINY DAYS- The "Umbrella" is our physical meeting/jam-session/after-school headquarters for our Amplified Teen Voices meetings. We also rent the space to local bands so they can practice without noise complaints. A donation to the Rainy Day Fund will help us keep the Umbrella in tip-top shape (i.e.: creating a "low-stim" room for folks with sensory-needs, replacing old drum stools, etcetera...)
