OneAmerica is an organization building a political platform, for us by us, that propels immigrants into public life, creating more representation for immigrants at every level of society. In growing our leaders and a powerful immigrant membership base, OneAmerica has advanced key wins on immigration, education justice and more representative democracy.

In the last year, OneAmerica has:

Led mass mobilization efforts, with community and labor partners, including May Day, Hands off Rally and No Kings Day
Hosted citizenship clinics throughout the state
Conducted a deep listening canvass in Clark, Yakima and King counties
Partnered with members and other community partners to advocate for our legislative agenda
Launched Washington For All, coordinating statewide coalition responses to the threat of ICE or National Guard deployment

Mission and Vision

OneAmerica, initially called Hate Free Zone, was founded by U.S. Congressmember Pramila Jayapal after September 11, 2001 to advocate for and with immigrants and refugees in response to anti-immigrant hate. OneAmerica advances the fundamental principles of democracy and justice at the local, state, and national levels by building power within immigrant communities in collaboration with key allies.

OneAmerica envisions a peaceful world where every person’s human rights and dignity are respected, where communities appreciate differences and stand together for justice and equality, and where each person contributes to the common good.
