The Northwest Perennial Alliance, or NPA, is an educational nonprofit devoted to teaching, inspiring, and sharing the joy of gardening. Our mission is to provide horticultural knowledge; we accomplish this by funding and supporting educational programs, public garden internships, and maintaining the highly-acclaimed mixed perennial border at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
The Northwest Perennial Alliance was founded in 1984 by a small group of plant enthusiasts in Seattle. It was patterned after the Hardy Plant Society of Great Britain, offering garden tours and educational programs to inspire more people to take up gardening. We grew along with our gardens, and today's NPA has over 1500 members in the Puget Sound area, where we continue to nurture and inspire a love of gardening.
Donations to NPA benefit our Horticultural Education Programs:
1) Horticultural Internships at the Bellevue Botanical Garden - this program provides future gardening professionals hands-on experience in a public garden setting
2) NPA Border at the Bellevue Botanical Garden - this free public garden showcases what grows best in our regional gardens; the mixed perennial border is NPA's gift to the community; all plants and maintenance are funded by NPA
3) Lectures, Classes, Workshops, Publications, Open Garden Tours - these programs provide on-going horticultural education to further gardening knowledge
Please donate to NPA and help us continue providing valuable horticultural knowledge to current and future gardeners.
