Mission

We exist to carry on time-honored sustainable, environmental practices in the tradition of the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) by facilitating and organizing tribal youth and adults in activities for the protection, enhancement, and promotion of mother earth and the Nimiipuu culture

Description

Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment social justice goals
We believe that all members of the society have an inherent right to protect, preserve and gain equally from the resources that are available in the world. We believe that all shall and should share in the benefits of today's social and economic progress. We also believe that disenfranchised groups and individuals must be brought into the fold to fulfil their dreams and ideals in our society. We do not discriminate against any individual based on any perceived difference but welcome all from whatever segment of society, socio-economic level or cultural background. We believe that as a group we can create positive change for our people and our neighbors. We work to educate the youth in our area on the Environmental issues that are currently impacting the earth to ensure they can be aware of our current ecological footprint

Recognition

We have received funding for our current operations from a number of groups that we feel have been instrumental in our growth. These include the 7th Generation Fund, Save Our Wild Salmon, Earthjustice, Under Solen Media, Social Justice Fund, Patagonia, and the Group Health Foundation.
