North Cascades Institute inspires environmental stewardship through transformative learning experiences in nature.
North Cascades Institute's youth programs create space for kids to learn, discover, make connections, grow, lead, heal, restore, and share experiences that inspire them to action. By supporting the Institute, you are investing in the future to help protect our beloved planet. Now, more than ever, we must unite around our core beliefs:
- Intimate contact with nature helps people heal and lead healthy, well-balanced lives
- Hands-on learning about the environment begins in childhood and lasts a lifetime
- Education, combined with critical thinking and civic engagement, is a primary tool for conservation
- Access to public lands is vital for education, recreation and renewal
Through the generous support of donors like you, we are able to provide transformative learning experiences in nature for people of all ages and backgrounds. This includes serving entire school districts with our overnight Mountain School program for 5th grade students as well as promoting climate solutions and fostering leadership with our Youth Leadership Adventures backcountry program for high school students.

"While working for North Cascades Institute, I have seen the power that experiential learning has on individuals of all ages, backgrounds and lived experiences. Facilitating these transformative learning experiences for young people has been life-changing for me. I invite you to make these opportunities available for more young people by Giving BIG for Youth!"
