Mission

Mercy Housing's mission is to create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.

Currently, MHNW has over 6,700 residents, including children, adults and seniors across 55 properties in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.

Description

Last year, thanks to our community of supporters, we distributed over 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for all ages. The students who call Mercy Housing Northwest home went back-to-school with everything they needed to start the school year off on the right foot. We accomplished this because of supporters like you.

A gift of $50 fills a brand-new backpack with supplies ensuring a student has everything they need to start the school year.

But backpacks are just the beginning. They open the door to a conversation between our Youth in School Liaison staff, parents/guardians, teachers, school administrators, and a community of volunteers. Together, we rally around these students with a strong focus on college and career readiness, educational support, enrichment activities, leadership, mentorship, parent engagement, and so much more.

The results of this work are powerful. Children who live in an affordable housing community with enriched services switch schools less often allowing them to build relationships with trusted teachers and administrators. This means higher attendance, on-time graduation rates, and students who are more likely to pursue post-secondary education.

When you support Mercy Housing Northwest during Give BIG 2024, you are joining this community and rallying around these students.

On behalf of the amazing students of Mercy Housing Northwest, thanks for your dedication
