Mission

Life Enrichment Options (LEO) is a community based non-profit organization that advocates for and works to support individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their life vision and goals through supportive housing, recreation, employment opportunities and community education.

Description

Show of hands: who remembers melting under the HEAT DOME last summer? We sure do! LEO residents and other people with developmental disabilities do not always have typical physical cues that help people avoid overheating, which makes situations like a historic heat wave even more serious! 

As always, we were all incredibly grateful to our fantastic Care Providers who supported the LEO residents through the heat and kept everyone hydrated and comfortable, despite heat climbing so high that some houses lost power and had to rely on their generators to keep fans and portable A/C units running. To make sure we're better prepared for such a crisis in the future, LEO is making upgrades to all of our homes to help us maintain livable temps indoors regardless of the weather, including installing central A/C in each of our LEO Homes. Donations from this GiveBig fundraising campaign will help us pay for these upgrades, which will help keep our residents safe and comfortable this summer and in future years. 

LEO is grateful for the community support we have received over the past 30 years. We hope you will join us as we adapt and grow our ability to support more individuals with development disabilities and their families in this incredibly challenging season in our lives.
