Nursing Student Scholarships

Our scholarship recipients have faced many life challenges and need your help so that they can achieve their dreams of becoming nurses. Our recipients bring life experience, compassion and advocacy to their work and show a passion for giving back.

Description

For the past 20 years Americans have rated nurses as the #1 most ethical and honest profession, according to a Gallup poll. Now more than ever, nurses are our heroes, working on the frontlines during the pandemic and beyond.

KCNA provides quality nursing continuing education programs on a variety of topics relevant to registered nurses, recognizes the accomplishments of members with annual nursing awards, provides grants to members working with community organizations on health-related projects, and awards scholarships to nursing students.

We need your help to provide scholarships to the next generation of Registered Nurses. We award 15 scholarships of $4,000 annually. Additionally, we provide two scholarships of $4,000 to the Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses Organization for student of African heritage.

Nursing scholarships are awarded to nursing students in King County. This includes those pursing initial licensure as RNs and those seeking advanced degrees. Diverse students are encouraged to apply, and awards are based on academic excellence as well as commitment to social justice. Over and over again, the applications we receive are filled with stories of intense personal challenges met with determination and a strong desire to give back. Many recipients are now leaders in the local nursing community.

KCNA is committed to supporting the next generation of Registered Nurses by providing scholarships. I invite you to join us in making dreams happen for local nursing students!
