Mission

Justice and Soul empowers trafficked and at-risk young people to become confident and self-sufficient individuals through professional training in cosmetology.

Description

Liveable income is necessary for an individual to exit the sex trade. Without it, a person is unable to sustain housing and meet other basic needs. A job that understands trauma and gives dignity, affirms a person’s value beyond their body and increases the possibility to continue work in the future.

By employing our expertise in the beauty industry, we provide hope and restoration through vocational training in cosmetology (hair, makeup, nails and skin care). With these new skills and increased self confidence, survivors are able to earn a sustainable living to keep them from returning to trafficking for survival.

Currently we are successfully operating in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  We are actively fundraising so that we can open a Salon and Academy in King County during the spring of 2025.  There is a vital need for trauma informed job training in King County and with your gift, this program can open soon!

OUR OBJECTIVES

Teach the fundamentals of cosmetology (hair, skin, nails and makeup), business, team building, and independent living for at-risk youth and traffic survivors.

Build student self-esteem and confidence in a trauma informed environment.

Pay students while attending our program so that they can support themselves.

Help students learn life skills outside of work.

Create career paths and secure employment for students upon graduation.
