Mission

Keeping the Columbia Gorge wild and wondrous is the core of what we do. Friends of the Columbia Gorge is the only conservation organization dedicated solely to protecting the Columbia Gorge for generations to come. For over 40 years we have worked to protect the Columbia Gorge from irresponsible development, preserve vital lands, promote responsible stewardship, strengthen public support for conservation initiatives, and expose local youth to the Gorge's wonders.

Description

The Columbia Gorge is a natural treasure containing five major ecosystems, important habitat for many threatened species, and is a place where people live, work, and recreate. 

But this incredible landscape can't protect itself. Higher numbers of people enjoying the Gorge, irresponsible development, fossil fuel transport, invasive species, clear-cutting, and congestion all threaten the beauty and resources of the Gorge.
