Mission

Global to Local's mission is to advance health equity and improve health in U.S. communities through application of best practices from around the world. We work with South King County communities to ensure they have the economic opportunities, health resources, and social connections they need to thrive.

Description

As a program of Global to Local, Food Innovation Network (FIN) is working to build a healthy, prosperous, connected community in South King County. We do this through food and community.

Based out of Spice Bridge, a community food hall and commercial kitchen in Tukwila, FIN's Food Business Incubator supports South King County women of color and immigrants start and grow thriving businesses. We assist these aspiring entrepreneurs with permits, subsidized kitchen and retail rent, connections to market channels, and coaching on food industry standards.

In addition to helping to create economic security for business owners and their families, we help build food security in our community. Spice Bridge is also a hub for FIN’s community meals program, which the chefs cook up around 300 meals a week.

With your support, Spice Bridge will continue to be a place where we meet food access needs, celebrate diverse cultures, and help talented chefs turn their business dreams into reality.

I feel so honored that as an entrepreneur, I can start my business and also contribute in making a difference in the community by all the wonderful work this non-profit program does. It made me feel reassured that this was meant to be the next big step for me in growing my business."
