Our Mission

Friends of FSH Research is dedicated to impacting the lives of those affected by FSH Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) through direct financial support of FSH (FSHD) research. As an all-volunteer organization, 100% of our fundraising proceeds goes toward promoting & supporting our mission.

Our Vision: A future where a diagnosis of FSHD is followed by, "we have a treatment."

Description

Since 2004, Friends of FSH Research has funded more than $8 million in research to find a treatment and a cure for FSHD, the most prevalent form of muscular dystrophy. In working with researchers at UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children's, and others around the globe, our funded research has provided key insights into the cause of the disease. Our work has provided great hope to the more than half million people suffering from this disease and spurs everyone in this field on to continue in their work!
None of this could be accomplished without the generosity of everyone who has joined this effort over the years. We encourage you to be part of this amazing group of supporters and say "YES" to investing in this important research!

Recognition

Our deepest gratitude to our community and all those who have believed in and supported our mission. Our dedicated board members, our volunteers, and our donors have all made it possible to stimulate new interest in FSHD research and to fund important studies which have helped to bring us closer to finding a treatment.
